The Leeton Domestic and Family Violence Awareness Team was formed about nine months, but it currently only has five active members.
A meeting will be held on Wednesday in a bid to attract more people to be part if the organisation.
Group member Narelle Weymouth said domestic and family violence remained a “huge issue” in Leeton shire.
“That’s why we formed this group in the first place,” she said.
“The police actually encouraged us to form this group, but without the manpower we can’t really do much. We know people have commitments and some of members have been sick, but we really want to keep this group running.”
The organisation’s main aim is to promote awareness of domestic and family violence issues.
Mrs Weymouth said there was plenty the group could be doing.
“All we need is to have more people to come on board to be able to do so,’ she said.
“We want to hold functions and awareness days. That sort of thing. We just need more help.”
The meeting will be held at the Salvation Army headquarters in Maple Street on Wednesday at 5pm.
