This year’s season was a big one for the organisation, with plenty of youngsters from across the shire taking part throughout winter.
A highlight of the presentation night, as well as the handing out of awards, was special guest NRL player Matt King.
King has represented NSW in the State of Origin side, as well as being an Australian international representative three-quarter back.
He played in Super League for English club Warrington Wolves and in the NRL for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Melbourne Storm.
In 2007 he won an NRL premiership with the Storm.
During his time in England he also won the 2009 and 2010 Challenge Cups with Warrington and was also named at centre in the 2010 Super League Dream Team.
Leeton Junior Rugby League president Scott McDonald said the young players were excited to meet him at the presentation night.
“It was a great night with around 380 parents and kids (attending),” he said.
“Everyone enjoy themselves.
“Matt King was a big hit on the night signing autographs and mixing with the kids and parents.”
Mr McDonald thanked parents, committee members and supporters for their assistance throughout the season.
He was hopeful 2017 be another big year for the organisation.
On the field, many of the junior league teams found success this year.
The under 10s, 12s, 14s and international league tag each made the grand finals.
The under 10s went down to the Griffith Black and Whites 26-12, in what was a tough game.
The Raiders ran out winners in the under 12s, with a close 18-16 victory over Yenda.
Success also came the way of the under 14s, who put on a clinical display of rugby league to take down Yanco Agricultural High School 38-16.
However, YAHS was able to get one back, with a 12-4 premiership win over Leeton in the international league tag.
