The organisation currently only has 11 members and is in need of fresh blood to come on board.
Long-time member Sue Parker said a lack of man power also made in difficult when trying to fill executive positions within the club.
She said it was also hard to ensure there were enough people on hand to assist at the many events that are attended by the Yanco Lions Club.
“(This is in conjunction with) members to work at events such as catering, raffles and anything else Lions are asked and invited along to help out at,” Ms Parker said.
“Yanco Lions have our own catering van that we take along to sporting events, fetes, parties, not-for-profit (initiatives) and this can become difficult to commit to.
“Sometimes it’s hard to rally enough of our members to work at these.”
Ms Parker said the reduction in numbers was something many organisations and committees in Leeton shire were having to deal with.
“We understand that life happens and members are not always available to help out, so in saying that, Yanco Lions Club would like to invite along members of the community that are interested in investing some of their time,” she said.
“We are only a small club, but would love to build on the members we currently have.
“If you think that you’d like to become a members of Yanco Lions, we would welcome you to come along to a meeting and see what you think.”
The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Yanco All-Servicemen’s Club at 7.30pm.
“Becoming a members of a Lions club allows you to donate your time when your able to and it would allow members to share their time around certain events,” Ms Parker said.
Next year the club will celebrate its 40th anniversary and hoped with enough members it could do so in style.
Yanco Lions Club activities include selling raffle tickets at the Yanco Markets, catering at different events and functions, private parties and more. For more information contact Ms Parker on 0429 968 967.
