The formation meeting of Leeton’s University of the Third Age (U3A) was held last week.
The committee will be made up of president Don Graham, vice president Greg Brown, secretary Neil Ditton, treasurer Jan Harris and members Kath Lamont, Del Leister and Nell Snaidero.
U3A classes will commence in late January and new members are welcome.
Mr Graham said was delighted that Leeton U3A had been formed and said it would prove to be a valuable asset to the community, especially it’s older citizens.
“We have already begun compiling a list of potential classes, mini courses, guest speakers, venues and activities,” Mr Graham said.
“Already, interest is being shown in forming groups within Leeton U3A of people interested in such diverse themes as tai chi, bridge, chess, bird watching, languages, computing basics and current affairs.
“The potential for Leeton’s U3A is very bright indeed.”
