Close to 50 participants turned out for training last Wednesday, with another session set down for Wednesday at the Leeton Showground. The upcoming competition will be played during the week so those that play netball on the weekends won’t have to choose between the two sports.
It will be an MIA competition between Leeton, Griffith and Narrandera, with any interested players urged to attend training on Wednesday. Travis Doyle has been assisting in co-ordinating the girls in Leeton.
“Some of the skills are right up there … a lot of the girls from St Francis have played and they won the state title last year,” he said. “I think it’s a really good opportunity for them. They can see there is a clear pathway for the sport.”
Training will be held on Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm.
