St Joseph’s Primary School is celebrating 100 years of Catholic education in Leeton.
The school has a reputation for achieving quality academic results and continues to focus on creating a sense of belonging and assisting each child to reach their potential.
Information on the academic standards can be viewed at the MySchool website www.myschool.edu.au.
To build on this success, in 2017 specialist literacy and numeracy support teachers now work in all classrooms on a daily basis.
This allows for smaller group sizes and learning tasks which are tailored to meet the needs of each individual child.
Buongiorno! A sound often heard around the playground at St. Joseph’s Primary School following the Italian Language classes that all children in the school undertake, building on the rich Italian heritage of the Leeton community.

A free instrument tuition program with tutors from the Conservatorium of Music began at St. Joseph’s last year.
Students also have the opportunity to be part of the school band. Research has found that learning music is not only enjoyable, it accelerates students’ abilities to learn in other areas of their life.
Another new initiative at St. Joseph’s in 2017 is a play based transition program for preschool aged children. Play to Learn follows the Early Learning Framework (ELF) and will run all year.
This free program is designed for four and five-year-old children who will be attending school the following year and is open to all families throughout the Leeton district.
