The QBR, similar to the Olympic Torch Relay, will travel to the Gold Coast through Commonwealth countries starting in London over a period of 12 months.
The baton will land in Canberra on January 25 for Australia Day, before heading our way.
The relay will pass through Wagga, Narrandera and Griffith on January 28, then through West Wyalong, Forbes and Parkes on January 29 before continuing its journey east to Orange.
Nominations are now open for residents to nominate who they think should carry the baton through their community.
The baton carries a message from the Queen to be revealed at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, which will be at the Gold Coast on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
The relay begins at Buckingham Place on Monday, March 13.
