They won the first set 25-9 and the second 25-8. The final set was a better contest and Bronwyn Cherry, Vance Roaders, improved her digs and serving and there were some good rallies. Strong net play by Col Emery, matched it against the dominant Kyle Newman from Leftovers. Leftovers won the last set 25-11 and the match 3-0.
Excellent serving and court play saw Bruno from Leftovers get best on court, followed by teammate Liam Ryan, and Cherry from Vance Roaders.
In the second match between Kiss My Ace and Hit Heads it again was the experience of Hit Heads that was too strong for their younger opponents.
Great play by Lorraine Kefford and Jo Irvine from Hit Heads was the difference, winning the first 25-14.
Rianna Scott and Keira Whitehead worked hard to get Kiss My Ace back in the game and they gave the Hit Heads a few nervous moments, but couldn’t quite get the win, going down 25-23.
The final set was a repeat of the first with Jess Clarke and Ang Franco from Hit Heads helped close out the set 25-14 and winning the match 3-0. Best players were Irvine and Ang Franco from Hit Heads, followed by Scott, Kiss My Ace.
The final match was between the two undefeated teams, Lethal Legends and Diggas with Attitude. Diggas had another 3-0 win to take them a game clear on top of the ladder.
The first set was a great contest with long rallies and strong serving. Shay Millard and Mitchell Cross served well for Diggas and with the help of Cath Gray, Kim Weller and Allen Rodrigues around the court, they were just too strong. For Lethal Legends Alannah Hughes was strong at the net and the improving Maria Tynan and Liz Taylor helped create some great rallies. The final set scores were 25- 19, 25-17, 25-15. Best players were Cross from Diggas, Tynan from Lethal Legends and Millard, Diggas.
