That is exactly what Leeton shire residents have been encouraged to do when the Mate Helping Mate Masquerade Charity Ball is held on April 8.
Money raised as a result of the night will go towards creating a new mental health DVD, which will be aimed at young people.
Tonetta Nardi and Bronwyn Piccoli are among the key organisers of the event and would like as much support as possible.
“The goal is to have that DVD created so young people can watch it and realise it’s okay to get help,” Mrs Piccolo said.
“Even if we do all of this (fundraising) and it only saves one young person from suicide, then we’ve done our job.”
The swanky affair will include entertainment by Party Boys Rockin’, a continuous raffle, surprise activities and the crowd will also hear from Mate Helping Mate founder John Harper.
“We wanted to do something that was a little bit different to what we normally do,” Mrs Nardi said.
“We’ve got the bike muster, but we thought this might be a good idea as it’s completely different to that.
“It’s going to be a really great night and we would love to get as many people there as possible.”
The first mental health DVD that was created by Mate Helping Mate, with the assistance of the Leeton Calo’s and was titled Our Stories of Depression.
Both Mrs Piccolo and Mrs Nardi have seen how the DVD has helped many in the community.
“What we want to do is show it’s okay to seek help,” Mrs Piccolo said.
“It’s just so important people know it’s okay to talk to someone.
“What we've noticed is people are starting to realise what we’re doing and what Mate Helping Mate is.”
Those attending the charity ball should ensure they have a mask to wear as part of the festivities, with the dress code formal.
There will be a continuous raffle throughout the evening, with more than $3000 in prizes on offer.
“Everyone has been so generous with us,” Mrs Piccolo said.
“Leeton has always been like that, but we’ve still been so blown away.
“It’s amazing the support and the generosity.
“We just want everyone to get in and buy their tickets now.”
Residents can purchase their tickets at Modern Vintage Decore in Pine Avenue for $60.
Tickets must be paid for and collected by April 4.
The charity ball will kick off at the Mia Function Centre on April 8 from 7pm.
