The Leeton Water Wheel Garden Club will again be hosting its open gardens events and it’s something residents, visitors and everyone in between shouldn’t miss out on, according to the group.
Six private gardens will be opened up for viewing, meaning it will be a unique way to spend the end of the long weekend, especially for those looking to pick up a gardening tip or two.
This year’s gardens, which are shrouded in secret until Easter Monday, are diverse and reflect their owner’s style.
They have all been spending many hours ensuring they are in tip top shape for the day.
ABC Riverina’s gardening expert, Adrian Podmore, will also be speaking at one of the gardens.
“Last year was a successful event and this year we hope to build on that, with Mr Podmore attending; lunch in a beautiful garden setting, music by the Leeton Town Band and John Martin and plant and market stalls,” club president Jeanine Bird said.
Leeton shire charities also benefit from the success of the day, with money raised distributed after the event.
“Last year we were able to donate over $3000 to local charities and organisations,” Mrs Bird said.
Opening from 10am to 4.30pm, tickets to see all six gardens are $20, which includes morning or afternoon tea.
Tickets, along with a map of the gardens, will be available at the Leeton Visitor Information Centre from 9.30am. Visit www.leetongardenclub.com.au for more information.
