That is the case at the Leeton Community Op Shop, which has put a call out for more volunteers to lend a hand.
The store has grown from strength-to-strength since opening in May last year.
It is because of this, more volunteers are needed to help keep up with the demand.
Store manager Jodie Ridge said more man power was needed.
“We currently have a fantastic bunch of volunteers already, but we really need more,” she said.
“The are crucial to everything we do.
“Without them we wouldn’t be able to be here.
“They are the backbone of the store.”
While the op shop is more than just its names suggests, volunteers are given a large role.
Their jobs can be anything from sorting clothes and assisting customers to maintenance jobs and more.
The role of a volunteer would appeal to a resident with extra time on their hand or a school or university student that can also spare an hour or two here and there.
“It would definitely look good on resumes,” social services manager Narelle Weymouth said.
“We’re a big community here … it’s a great place to be all of the time.
“It would be so great to see some new faces.
“Hopefully we get a diverse range of people wanting to become a volunteer too.”
Any residents interested in becoming a volunteer can drop by the store or call 6953 5664.
