Leeton banged away four goals in the first half, held Sharks to one goal scored off a penalty, and kept a clean sheet in the second half to win 4-1 at Rawlings Park last weekend.
Leeton players were confident near the goalmouth – four men scored against Lake Albert including strikers Munyah Kawara and Anthony Trifogli, left back Scott Munro and mid Julian Mandaglio
Assistant coach, Joe Trifogli said if his team stick to a similar tempo in this game they should be able to come away with a positive result.
“Henwood has already shown they will be a tough defensive side,” he said.
“I’m confident if we can maintain the form we showed last week we can get the win.”
In the first three rounds of the competition, Henwood Park are currently undefeated having on dropped points in a 3-3 game against Junee last weekend. The other two games were a 2-1 victory over South Wagga and a 3-0 win over Tumut in the first round.
Trifogli said the game against Lake Albert shows the side is starting to hit peak performance.
“We beat the favourites in a hard and physical encounter 4-1,” he said.
“I think that shows were are about to really starting hitting our straps since we didn’t have too many preseason games, so these have helped to get us match fit.
“We have a couple of sore players but nothing more than that so it should be a full strength team heading into this weekend.”
The assistant coach is confident if the team listens to the instructions coming from coach Mick Doolin it will put them in a good position.
“If they play to Mick’s instructions they should be fine,” he said.
“Hopefully we can get them back to the level they were at against Lake Albert.
“It can be hard to back up a performance like that, but if everyone does their job, we should be able to come away with the win.”
This weekend they will play under the light of the MIA Sports Field with the game set for a 5pm start.
