From this week there is a change to the entrance of the Leeton District Hospital, with the emergency department undergoing improvements.
Leeton cluster manager Jenny Tyrrell said the new entrance will improve the ease of access for everyone entering the hospital.
“This is wonderful news for our hospital and we appreciate the community’s understanding and patience while the upgrades occur,” Ms Tyrrell said.
A new nurse call system will also be implemented.
The work at the emergency department will include:
- An upgrade to existing CCTV coverage
- New air-conditioning in the waiting area
- New automatically locking doors to improve security after hours
- New front reception counter
The nurse call system will allow improved notification from patients needing nursing assistance and better notification between staff when additional assistance is required.
It will also increase functionality.
