This is the second event the association has held, and President Joseph Amato was blown away with the 150 strong crowd at Griffith Post-School Options building in Yoogali.
“The committee is extremely appreciative of such a show of support by the attendees and the wider community.”
“In the last meeting, we spoke we approved expenditure of over $6000 for the purchase of much needed equipment and resources for the diabetes educators in the area, mainly focusing on juvenile and children with diabetes.”
Going towards these much needed purchases, the Piccolo family donated $6000 from their open garden several weeks ago.
There are plenty of people suffering, we want to make sure we can look after them all if we can.

While the final figures raised from the lunch are yet to be finalised, Mr Amato estimated around $2000 was raised.
“We are extremely grateful for these donations, and none of it would be possible without the help of the wider community as well,” Mr Amato said.
“If anyone in the community is struggling with diabetes, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us, or if you would like to be a part of the committee as well,” he said.
