Mr Bloomfield said he felt confident heading into the quest thanks to the committee he has behind him from the Leeton Soldiers Club.
Leading the charge alongside him is Sue Gavel, who Mr Bloomfield said had already been a big help.
Mr Bloomfield is a supervisor at the club and was hoping to use the quest as an opportunity to draw people to the venue through the many fundraisers he has planned.
He has chosen the MIA branch of MS Australia as his charity and he was looking forward to raising as much money for them as possible.
“I hope to give it my best shot … it should be fun,” he said.
“It’s been fun so far. I think it’s a good challenge.
“We have a lot of the MS committee who do a lot at the club, so it sort of went in hand and I wanted to support them.”
Mr Bloomfield was born and bred in Leeton and has always enjoyed the SunRice Festival.
“I don’t really have a favourite part, I like it all,” he said.
“It’s always been good. They put a lot of work into it.
“I’m looking forward to being part of it all.”
He has many events planned for the quest and was looking forward to getting all of the community involved.
“So far I’ve raised nearly $1600 in a week … just by doing a raffle at work, Light Up Leeton and Santa photos,” Mr Bloomfield said.
“We’ll be having a wine night, a mega raffle which is five nights accommodation at the beach and a few other things that aren’t quite confirmed yet.
“It should be good.
“I’m looking forward to doing things that can hopefully involve everyone in the community.”
This year the ambassador quest has four entrants – Mr Bloomfield, Zoe Cherry, Isabella Mercuri and Lauren Brett.
On Easter Saturday at the Festival on Mountford, one will be named the Leeton SunRice Festival 2018 Ambassador and another the Highest Fundraising Ambassador.
