New coach Clinton Green was thrilled to have Dan Hyde, Taina Heke and Wilson Feagai on board ahead of the new year and said it was looking like a top season for Leeton.
It is the first time Green has coached first grade in Leeton after a previous stint in the role at Darlington Point-Coleambally.
It’s good to have everyone so enthusiastic.

He said at the moment the players were making his job easy.
“We’ve been getting good numbers at training and some of the younger ones are really putting in and giving it a good crack,” Green said.
“It’s good to have everyone so enthusiastic. Everyone’s positive.
“Those three boys coming over from Yanco are a good boost for the first grade team. They are quality players.”
Adam Twigg from Waratah Tigers will also be joining the Greens, with former junior Hayden Crockett to also pull on a Leeton jumper.
Joining Green in the coaching ranks this year will be Katie McGregor (league tag), Joel Dempsey (reserve grade), Jayke Stevenson (under 18s) and Warren Weir (under 16s).
Senior players will have their first hit out of the pre-season this weekend against Albury.
“Albury are always a quality side,” Green said.
“I’m not too fussed on the result. It will be more about seeing how everyone is progressing and where we are up to.”

Key to the pre-season has been lifting fitness levels across the board.
“If you can do that now, it goes a long way to helping you for the rest of the season,” Green said.
The Greens have further pre-season games lined up, but won’t be heading to the West Wyalong knockout this year.
They will instead focus on putting in a good showing during the Group 20 Paul Kelly Knockout competition before round one against the Yenda Blueheelers.
