The young St Joseph’s Primary School student has recently found success on the Aussie Rules field, as well as the cricket pitch.
Jude has made the MacKillop representative cricket side after finding success at numerous carnivals before being successful chosen.
Last week he was also selected in the diocesan Aussie Rules team, which will compete at a carnival next month.
That is on top of recent success he has had in the pool, excelling at a school level and participating in this week’s deanery carnival.
The cricket carnival was the Wagga diocese up against the Goulburn diocese with the MacKillop tean chosen from there.
“I batted pretty good … I think I ended up with about 18 runs,” Jude said.
“I like batting more than fielding.”
The representative carnival for that team will be held later in the year where teams from across the state will be participating.
Jude enjoys playing cricket at a town level in Leeton, chosen in representative teams in that respect as well.
Last year he played in the Leeton-Whitton Crows under 11s premiership side and he said footy was something he had always loved.
“My favourite position is midfield on ball,” he said.
“I like the contact part of footy.
“I like being part of the teams as well.”
Jude follows Hawthorn in the AFL and his favourite player is Cyril Rioli.
St Joseph’s Primary School sports co-ordinator Adam Mannes was thrilled with Jude’s achievements.
“He’s put in a lot of effort,” Mannes said.

“It’s great to see students at St Joseph’s achieving at this level and we’re only into week six of the new school year.
“This year we’re hoping to have the kids participating in sports of all varieties and sending them off to carnivals so they can get that experience.”
For Jude, he’s hopeful of just doing his best and representing his school and teams to the best of his ability.
“I just like playing sport and having a go,” he said.
“It’s usually pretty fun.”
