Jake Speer was in Leeton to further put plans in place for the filming of his latest project Inside Water, as well as shooting behind-the-scenes footage of the festival for a documentary of the town which will be released as part of the movie.
“We’re in town to capture the spirit of the town while it’s alive and thriving with the festival,” Mr Speer said.
“This documentary is focusing on the film-making, but also the community and the people here who have made it happen.”
Joining Mr Speer on his trip was the film’s director D'Arby Deck, with the pair also announcing they have secured renowned cinematographer, who has worked with directors such as Baz Luhrmann and Martin Scorsese.
They have also secured the services of an award-winning sound mixer for post-production.
Filming for Inside Water is due to get underway around April 21 and will continue for the majority of that week.
“We really seem to have connected with so many people because they have connected with our story,” Mr Speer said.
There is also an exciting opportunity for a Leeton shire resident to be an intern during the filming.
There’s no real requirement to do so, just someone who has a passion for the industry and a licence.
Those interested in putting their name forward should visit the Inside Water Facebook page.
