Puntoriero said going into round six and coming off the bye would be a challenge, but he believes the Hawks are on the right track.
“I am slightly worried, but I always thought we would have a slow start to the year,” he said.
“We’ve just had a new front rower from New Zealand start with us, so that’s promising.”
This weekend Yanco-Wamoon will head to Griffith on Sunday to take on the Black and Whites.
After a week off with the club bye, the Hawks are refreshed and ready to string together some consistent wins.
“We trained all of last week … even in the rain on the Friday,” Puntoriero said.
“I’m confident we will be able to get a win on Sunday, we’ve just got to start putting everything together.
“For us now, we’re going to have to start taking the approach like we’re playing finals footy. We can’t afford to be losing too many more.”

The Panthers have won two games in season 2018 and the Hawks are hoping it stays that way on Sunday.
A similar side to the one which travelled to West Wyalong a fortnight ago will be selected, but there will be some positional changes. “Against West Wyalong we shot ourselves in the foot a bit with a few mistakes from guys that don’t normally make them,” Puntoriero said.
“We’ve been working on our defence patterns at training. Concentrating on our ruck defence, that sort of thing.”
