The school participates in the Live Life Well program, which educates teaching staff on how to incorporate a range of learning opportunities into the whole school environment.
As a result, Yanco Public is currently trialling including a short five-minute “energiser break” into class sessions to get students active while learning.
“Our school breakfast and kitchen garden program also educate students with essential life skills, as well as teaching the importance of looking after our health and working at living life well,” principal Tarnya Grigg said.

Other activities have included a bike day at the end of term one and students are currently in training for their cross country events, as well as a five-week program to build athletics skills.
“We encourage students to enjoy a treat, but to also understand the importance of coming to school each day with fruit, water in their drink bottle and healthy options for recess and lunch,” Ms Grigg said.
