To be set in a social, relaxed setting at the Leeton Soldiers Club on July 14, the idea will be to recognise and reward businesses for their efforts, but will also aim to bring employers and employees together under a common banner.
Leeton Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Matt Gatt explained.
“While part of the evening will definitely be about the awards, we also see it as an opportunity for business owners to link up with their peers and discuss ideas,” he said.
“Even if you’re in competition with each other, that’s the best time to be getting together for a chat.
“All businesses have a responsibility to make sure our town thrives, together.”
With the date locked in, nominations for awards which will link in with the NSW Business Chamber system are now open.
Winners who take home the gongs from these categories will have the option to move on to regional level.

This process is by self-nomination. This year there will be other categories not aligned with the NSW Business Chamber, which will require residents to vote once nomination forms are printed in The Irrigator.
One new honour which has been added in 2018 is for excellence within a social enterprise.
“This is for businesses who are making a social and economic difference,” Mr Gatt said.
