Mrs Jennings is one of the many victim’s of a recent crime spree in Leeton where thieves are breaking into motor vehicles and stealing whatever they can get their hands on.
On Monday morning Mrs Jennings discovered her vehicle, which was parked and locked in her carport, had been broken into overnight.
Panic set in when she discovered her late husband, Mark Jennings’ wedding ring was among the items taken by thieves.
Mrs Jennings’ wedding ring was also stolen, her friendship ring, along with pendants bearing her husband’s handprints.
The items in Mrs Jennings’ purse, which was wedged between the hand brake and the two front seats.
Normally she would take her purse inside, but after arriving home late on Sunday, it was a simple case of forgetting to take it in with her.
A leather book mark made by Mr Jennings and his VRA tag were later found strewn near the house.
“It’s gut-wrenching … especially with the timing (Mr Jennings’ one-year anniversary),” Mrs Jennings said.

“I’m of the opinion if you leave something in your car, it’s locked and it’s in your carport, it should be safe.
“It’s so sad this has happened.”
Her daughters – Jade and Emily – were also understandably upset at the incident.
She said the rings have no monetary value to the thieves.
“I just ask if they still have them to give them back, just drop them in my letter box,” Mrs Jennings said.
The thieves may also have discarded the items, so residents have been urged to keep a look out and, if they find them, hand them in to police.
“It just makes me so angry this is happening in our town and it’s happening to good people,” Mrs Jennings said.
“I love giving back to our community. It’s what I do at work and through my community work, so it’s horrible this is happening.
“The police have been really great with me. We all need to be vigilant and keep an eye out. If anyone sees anything or knows anything about these break ins, they should let the police know.”
