Just like Just A Bit Sassy did in 2012, the Wayne Sullivan-trained two-year-old filly proved too strong her for rivals on Saturday.

After winning her heat at Wagga on May 22, the daughter of Sportswriter made it four wins and two seconds from her six starts as she ran past $1.70 favourite Miss Halfpenny to take the win.

She will be one of three Riverina-trained fillies in the group one final next month.

Brian Smith’s Belongtolou finished second behind Rollin With Holly in the other semi to qualify while Bruce Harpley’s Delightful Jackie was fifth in the same race.

Belongtolou has come up with barrier one for the final on July 1 with Delightful Jackie (three) and Cee Cee Ambro (nine), but with two emergencies inside, drawn wider on the track.

Bruce Harpley also qualified Rubies For Tash in the four-year-old mares final.

She finished a neck behind former Young pacer Dont Think Twice to qualify for her third group one final.

Brett Woodhouse’s Million Dollar Gem was third and also cemented her place in the final.

The Wagga form was also strong with both two-year-old colts and geldings semi-final winners coming out of the region’s heat.

Lochnivar Art won his heat at Wagga while Hardhitter bounced back from a second placing behind the Laura Crossland-trained colt to win his semi-final.

Muscle Factory was second behind Hardhitter for part-owner Wagga’s Jared Kahlefeldt.

The semi-finals for the three-year-old fillies and four-year-old entires and geldings will be held on Saturday.
