IT’S not often fathers and sons get to play four quarters of hard footy together, but it happened at Coolamon on Saturday.

When Leeton-Whitton reserve’s coach, Andrew Sidebottom, realised numbers presented problems he quickly kitted up.

Playing alongside his son, Tim, Andrew booted an early goal in what was his first game after retiring from Victorian regional football 14 years ago.

Coolamon went on to win comfortably but Sidebottom Snr hasn’t ruled out a sustained comeback.

He rejected any suggestion he was completely done in by the end of the game.

"I’m a bit cramped but otherwise rearing to go," he said.
