The machine is currently in the process of being relocated to the Woolworths Service Station on Palm Ave, around 75 metres from its current location.
It is believed the machine is being moved due to a damaged power lead at its old home.
SW Environment Protection Authority Chair and CEO Anissa Levy says the Leeton Shire community seems to have fully embraced the scheme.
“We congratulate them on their efforts to reduce litter and recycle,” she said.
“We thank the Leeton community for their patience while the new site is installed and encourage them to save their eligible containers and Return and Earn at the new location when it is up and running.”
Ms Levy said while changes are expected to take place within the next week “the exact date is to be confirmed”. A sign advising people of the closure has been added to the machine.
