Two quick tries to Josh Higgins got the Hawks off to the start they needed as they went into the halftime break with the lead.
As the scores tightened up in the second half, the Hawks gave themselves some breathing room with a field goal before both sides score minutes apart to make in 21-10 with the Hawks able to hold on for the last 20 minutes to take the win.
Leeton needed to make the most of its opportunities going forward, but scoring chances were few and far between thanks to a solid Hawks defence.
Yanco-Wamoon was perfect all day when the pill went over the try line, and successfully converted a penalty.
The try scoring-conversion ratio continues to hold the Hawks in good shape going into the second half of the season, with Gary Ingram continuing to be among the stand out boots for the 2018 Group 20 season.
The Hawks’s twos did the job backing up the first grade to win handsomely 40-16 and make it two from two in the seniors.
While the 18s and league tag sides also took wins away for Yanco, the Greens got some respite with a solid 22-14 victory in the 16s.
