The Greens return to No. 1 Oval on Sunday against the second-placed Waratah Tigers after a 42-28 loss to ladder-leaders Tullibigeal Lakes United last weekend.
The loss to the Sharks was the second consecutive one for Leeton and coach Clinton Green is hopeful of turning their fortunes around on Sunday.
“Waratahs are probably the best team in the competition at the moment,” he said.
“Last time we played them we did push them and probably should have won it, but we let it slip.
“It’s pretty important we do get the win this weekend. We’re sitting in sixth, so we need to start stringing a few wins together.”

Not helping first grade’s cause will be the loss of several players through injury, with others also unavailable through work commitments.
A shining light for the club this year has been their under 18s side, who have stepped up in several matches to fill the missing gaps.
This will again be the case on Sunday.
“The under 18s have been really handy for us this year,” Green said.
“There probably isn’t one game where we haven’t been supported by their players coming up.
“Each week they have probably been in our top players too, so it’s good signs for the club that way.”
While Green knows climbing up the ladder requires winning, he's also hoping to build a solid culture among his team.
“Obviously you want to be winning, but it’s also about building up your team and their character because all of that will end up paying off you as well,” he said.
With the Waratahs ready for battle, Leeton will need to be raring to go from the first siren.
“I definitely think we can beat them … there’s probably a little bit of confidence there from our last match with them too,” Green said.
One of Leeton’s key players in first grade has been young Braxton Wallace, who will continue to play a crucial role, according to Green.
“He got our mug last weekend … he’s a very talented player,” he said.
“At 17-years-old, he’s playing senior footy for us and the (Leeton-Whitton) Crows as well.”
