The tournament was held over two days, with bowlers playing five games of 15 end triples.
The round robin format ensured a fair contest and with the greens playing magnificently spectators were treated to a high standard of bowls. Competition was even and the winners were not decided until the final ends of the final games.
In the end it came down to the final two matches and, once the dust had settled, it was determined the visiting Cootamundra side, skipped by “Froggy” Roberts were the winners.
The Leeton Soldiers Club team led by Mark Lemmon can consider themselves unlucky to finish second though after winning more ends then any other side in the tournament.
However, it wasn’t enough to get them over the line and they had to be content with being the bridesmaid. L&D sides filled the minor placings in third and fourth.
