The committee is considering dates in September/October and looks to highlight the many retail and industry businesses and services that make up our amazing town’s economic footprint.
Much talk was had at the June general meeting over what awards categories will be offered now.
Lots of suggestions were passed around and a list of at least 12 unique categories were locked in, including awards for tourism operators, retailers and tradespeople.

The executive committee was surprised to see such a positive response to the move away from alignment with the NSWBC Awards structure. Fortunately members who had made a nomination through the NSWBC process will still have an opportunity to be judged through the Murray-Riverina Regional awards.
The new LOBA categories and nominations will run with support from our major sponsor The Irrigator. The committee discussed a community nomination system coupled with a silent judging.
We look forward to sharing the process with you all very soon. Another item discussed was our success in campaigning for reductions in fees proposed by the draft 18/19 Leeton Shire Council budget. A flat rate of $25 for use of council footpaths and outdoor dining areas.
