Last weekend Yanco-Wamoon came from behind to steal a victory in the local derby against Leeton, in what coach Nick Puntoriero acknowledged was his team “getting out of jail”.
The aim for the first grade Hawks now is to string together consecutive wins and get a roll on ahead of the finals.
In their path this weekend is the third-placed Tullibigeal Lakes United, a team just three points ahead of them on the ladder.
The Hawks will again be at Yanco Sportsground in what will be their last home game of the season.

Puntoriero said now was the time for the team to fix some of the mistakes they had been making.
“We know we got out of jail against the Greenies last weekend,” he said.
“There’s plenty we need to improve on and the boys know that.
“I think mostly it’s our composure. We have panicking a little bit lately.
“Our defence is pretty good. It’s probably our attack we need to work on.”
Last time Yanco-Wamoon and the Sharks went head-to-head was in round eight when TLU scored a 28-16 victory.
Puntoriero said the completion of sets this weekend would be crucial if his side was going to win.
“We’ve also got to keep them out of their own 20 all day like they did to us last time we played,” he said.
The Hawks are expecting to take in a similar side from last weekend’s derby into the match against TLU.
“Simon Miller could be okay to come back … I’m not too sure at this stage,” Puntoriero said.
“Other than that, there’s not going to be too many changes.”
The Hawks escaped relatively unscathed from the derby match up, barring the usual bumps and bruises.
Following the third v fourth clash on Sunday, Yanco-Wamoon’s remaining round of the home and away fixture is against Darlington Point-Coleambally.
“We certainly want to get those two wins before the finals,” Puntoriero said.
“There’s no taking the foot off the pedal.
“We want to be gaining a bit of momentum now heading in.”
