In a quirk of the conditions, the five-year-old is eligible for the C2-C3 despite winning a final at Menangle last month.
After an impressive win at Menangle on July 7, trainer Col Thomas is looking to make the most of another shot.
“We’re lucky to get in it as you can only win one in 12 months,” Thomas said.
Bettermatch had to sustain plenty of early pressure to win his final in a mile rate of 1:51.3.
Thomas is wary of Geldof after his strong win in the NSW Breeders Challenge Regional Final last month.
Geldof has drawn seven and looms as the obvious threat to the former star juvenile on the comeback trail.
“I thought Geldof went really good at Bathurst and beat a nice horse so he’s the one to beat,” Thomas said.
It is a bumper 10-race card after losing Saturday.
