The Leeton Phantoms Rugby Union Club recently held its annual charity day where money was raised for the town’s Breast Cancer Support Group.
All up a total of $2500 was generated on the day and the money has now been handed over to the group, which will go towards helping Leeton patients with breast cancer.
Phantoms president Tim Allen said the charity day concept wasn’t a new one, but was nonetheless pleased with the total raised.

“We had great support on the day … it was our ladies day as well, so there were plenty of people at the game supporting us,” he said.
“We had special jumpers for the day as well, which were then auctioned off and bought by the players after their matches.
“Members of the breast cancer group were also there, which was great to see.”
In the past the charity day has supported various causes, but this year the club wanted to donate the money to a Leeton shire group.
“We all know someone or of someone who has had breast cancer,” Mr Allen said.
“That’s why we chose this group.
“They do a lot of great work in our community and we wanted to help some them do that.
“We’re thrilled to have been able to donate them that money. We thank everyone who contributed.”
