ON AN overcast and cold day, the boys had come to play.
In their way of grand final glory was the Griffith Panthers – a talented and formidable side.
However, it was Leeton’s time to shine and they won 44-6 on the day. Ethan McDonald was the captain and “Sarg” who made every post a winner and led the charge.
Vula Wate thought it was his duty to run hard and straight and in full flight he is a thing of beauty. Riley Legge can run like a gazelle and even with all their defence, Leeton could not be stopped.
Cruz Wallace was also a force to be reckoned with, taking down some of the biggest on the field. Harry Hurst did produce Bruce Banner and in their spokes he did throw a spanner. Cameron Miners floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee and together with Harrington Eurell they were the Thing and The Flea.

DEFENCE was the key to success for the Leeton Raiders under 12s, winning their grand final 22-6 over a strong Black and Whites team.
With the forwards leading the way in the middle of field, the Raiders were able to spread the ball wide for Jake Wynn to score out wide.
After a tight battle on the field the Raiders were able to score again through Jake from a well-placed kick. Leeton led 8-0 at half-time.
Two quick tries to Johnathan Bailey straight after half-time had victory in they sight and Leeton eventually came away with a 22-6 win. For the second consecutive year Harvey Gay was awarded the best and fairest medal.

IN ARGUABLY the best game of the day the Leeton Raiders were victors over the previously undefeated Griffith Panthers.
The Raiders certainly turned up to play and with strong defence and a dominance in attack went to halftime in front 14-4. Although the Panthers fought back after the break the local boys held onto a 28-26 win.
Elvis Nauer led from the front with three tries, Noah Maybon continued to make inroads into the big Panthers pack. Dummy half Cody Tatt had his best game of the year, while out wide Ned Halls came up with a number of special plays.
On the back of strong defence from Beniel, the halves in Tyler O’Connell and Blake McDonald controlled the game. In what was a complete team performance, a big thank you to our under 12s players Carta Jackson and Jake Wynn.

THERE was no report sent in for the international league tag which had Leeton go down 30-24 in a close game.
