A DAY out at the Barellan Show last weekend proved even more costly than usual for one community member.

During the course of the show the victim was helping out with various events at Barellan Showground when their Holden Rodeo ute was broken into and a bank card was stolen.
It was fitted with PayPass technology, with the offender then going on a spending spree in Griffith – using the card on eight occasions.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage the stores where the card was used and inquiries are continuing.

A BURNED out vehicle was found on Yate Road in Leeton after it was reported stolen from Parry Lane.
The Blue Holden Commodore was located and reported to police and those with information should contact officers to assist with their investigations.

A LEETON resident has fallen victim to an online scam.
The person purchased items off Gumtree and directed their payment to the bank details given.
However, police said the supplier appears to have gone off the radar and the items purchased have not been received.

Chief Inspector John Wadsworth said it was important to be cautious when making online purchases and said residents should report any suspect activity or scams to police.

CHIEF Inspector John Wadsworth has reminded residents they can attend the Leeton police station to see if any of their stolen property might be on site after having been handed in or recovered.
He said items such as mountain bikes could often be found at the station so those missing there’s should head to the station to see if one could be theirs.
