After winning the toss the experienced pair of Adrian Axtill and Peter Lashbrook made their way to the crease looking to put the pressure on the opposition.
The opening pair put on 34 runs before Lashbrook (11) was caught by Daniel Hyde off the bowling of Antony Tocin.
Caleb Watson joined Axtill out in the middle, but it was Axtill who did the bulk of the scoring in a 51-run stand which eventually saw Watson (10) dismissed by Blake McDonald (1/12).
While Dylan McKellar (0) wasn’t able to have an impact on the scoreboard, Bryce Collins was able to keep the score ticking over while Axtill kept moving towards a big score for himself.
When Collins (17) fell to the bowling of Dylan Browne (1/33) no other batsmen from the Yellow side were able to post double digits as Daniel Barton (1), and Kai Schmetzer (4) fell in quick succession.
Axtill (101*) ensured the score kept ticking over before Eligh Watson (0) to see L&D Yellow finish on 166 after 29 overs.
L&D Blue made a tough start with Nathan Jones (0), and Noah Maybon (3) fell to see their side sitting on 2/10 after four overs.
Tyler O’Connell and McDonald tried to get their side back on track with a 40-run stand before McDonald (17) was dismissed by Schmetzer (1/25).
Tocin picked up where McDonald left off putting on an almost run-a-ball 19 before Axtill decided to have an impact with the ball as well.
Watson (2/12) took the wicket of Chris Iannelli (7) and Craig Sharp (0) in quick succession before Hyde looked to help O’Connell get their side close to the total.
When Axtill (3/26) took the wickets of O’Connell (50) and Browne (0) the Blue’s side chase came to a close on 148 off 32 overs with Hyde (37*) left unbeaten.
Meanwhile, Yanco Cricket Club Stags picked up a forfeit win over LSC Colts while Narrandera also picked up a win by forfeit against Yanco Cricket Club Phantoms.
