The Ferrets won the toss and elected to bat, but the loss of Steve Campbell (5) to the bowling of Jordan Camm (1/12) saw their side needing to rebuild in the fourth over.
Richard Smith and Daniel Muir took the task in their stride and made the most of the conditions to put on a quickfire 21-run partnership before Muir fell to the bowling of Angus Boulton while Smith (9) was run out by Josh Lanham.
Nathan Jones (4) was the second to be knocked over by Boulton to have the Ferrets sitting on 4/49 after 9.3 overs.

The father-son duo put on 28 for the fifth-wicket in seven overs before Mat (14) was dismissed by Matt Dedini (1/12).
Captain Ben Elwin joined Adrian Axtill out in the middle and added some quick late runs before Elwin (4) was the third batsmen to be bowled by Boulton (3/15) with two balls left in the innings Ben Killen (1*) and Axtill (27*) added two runs to see the L&D side finish on 6/97 off 20 overs.
Taking an early wicket was going to be crucial for the Ferrets, and Elwin (1/19) answered the call as he had Dedini (2) out caught by Sam Alampi.
Angus Boulton took the leading role in a 16-run partnership with Jason Burke before Muir had Burke (0) caught by Steve Campbell while Muir stuck again the next ball to remove Jock Yelland (0) however Camm was able to see off the hat-trick delivery.
The partnership between Camm and Boulton proved crucial for the Stags as they put on 31 runs for the fourth-wicket before Bryce Rogers (2/12) struck to remove Boulton (24) and Camm (16) within three balls while Adrian Axtill (1/19) dismissed Josh Lanham (2).
