The year 6 student recently returned from the Premier’s Spelling Bee finals at the Ultimo Centre in Sydney where he was among 50 others from the state taking part.
Darcy won through to this competition following his elite performance throughout term three, winning the stage three Parkview PS spelling bee before being crowned the Riverina champion at the regional finals hosted in Griffith.

Competing in front of a packed audience of in excess of 500 spectators and a significant viewer audience courtesy of the ABC’s Facebook Page livestream, Darcy made it through to the second round of the competition, finishing joint 29th in NSW.
