The Leeton Community Christmas Lunch is on again in 2018 on December 25 and now is the time to RSVP.
Each year the lunch ensures those who don’t have family in town, are on their own, elderly or just in need of some Christmas spirit, won’t spend the festive day on their own.
A traditional Christmas luncheon is served up by volunteers, who not only give up their own time on the day, but spend the weeks beforehand preparing and fundraising.

Committee chairwoman Maureen Sheldrick said the most “wonderful time of the year” should be celebrated by everyone no matter their circumstance.
“I just love seeing everyone together on the day,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful occasion. No one is left out.”
The luncheon is also made possible by various donations of cash and produce, including from the Golden Apple Super Store, which provides the hams every year.
Last week the committee also received $2000 from Southern Cotton, who donated the money after winning it as part of an award.
“We couldn’t do what we do without these donations,” Mrs Sheldrick said.
“It helps us to purchase what we need for the lunch.”
The committee will also have a stand at Light Up Leeton on December 2 where residents can enjoy some pasta at a small fee, with proceeds going towards the lunch.
The group also collects gifts as part of its work.
Residents can visit its giving tree at the Golden Apple, pick a tag and provide a gift for the age or person listed on the back.
RSVP forms are available throughout town, including in The Irrigator.
Fill out the forms, which can be collected from the St Peter's Op Shop, Leeton Community Op Shop, St Vincent De Paul, doctors surgeries and more before dropping them back at the same location.
The luncheon will be held at noon on Christmas Day at the St Peter’s Hall.
