Leeton Public School’s P&C will receive close to $35,000 to upgrade its kitchen, while Leeton High School’s oval irrigation system will be refurbished thanks to a $118,000 Club grant.
As well as the schools, basketball goals will be replaced at the Leeton Indoor Stadium thanks to a $20,000 grant and Yanco-Wamoon was able to purchase a new electronic scoreboard with help from the state government to the tune of $19,992.
Apart from the Leeton High project, all of the other initiatives have been provided the money from the NSW government’s community building partnership program.
Member for Murray Austin Evans was in Leeton last week to discuss the funding and the projects.
He met with representatives from both Leeton Public and Leeton High, as well as Brian Rotherham from the Leeton District Cricket Association, which received separate funding to upgrade its cricket nets at the high school ovals.
“The NSW government’s strong economic management ensures we are in a position to invest in these important local projects,” Mr Evans said.
