Every year the hams carnival gets the festivities underway at Light Up Leeton and 2018 was no different.
Hundreds of residents tried their hand at winning a succulent ham or two to feed their friends and family this festive season.
While not exactly a free lunch, the money raised from each ticket sold goes straight back into the community courtesy of the work undertaken by the Rotary Club of Leeton.
As is tradition, residents scrambled to buy tickets for each round, which consisted of two spins before participants had to reach into their pockets in order to try again.
For the lucky ones, their hams were safely stored in a portable cool room for them to take home later in the night.
The windy weather didn’t keep residents away from the start of the Light Up Leeton carnival, with several setting up camp in the shade to prepare for Santa’s arrival and the community concert.
Keeping them entertained while they waited was various entertainment and rides and delicious eats and treats.
