After the Stags won the toss and sent the Colts into bat, they made the early impact they were after with Danyon Evans taking the wicket of Hugh Collins (5) while Matt Del Guzzo (3) fell to the bowling of Jock Yelland.
Todd Pattison and Matt Curry tried to get their side moving in the right direction with a 22-run partnership before Yelland picked up the wickets of Pattison (10) and Nathan Tang (1) in quick succession.
The Stags continued to pile on the pressure as Mark Doyle (2/21) picked up the wickets of Curry (19) and Sam Cooper (2) while Grant Forrest (1/7) dismissed Colts captain Nathan Carn (2).
Jarryd Day (18*) and Alex Crelley (7*) added some much needed late runs before the LSC side reached the end of their innings on 7/77.
Needing to score at a run-rate of 3.85 to take the victory Jason Burke and Nathan Lanham looked to lay the foundation.
Over the course of the next 12 overs, the opening pair put on 57 runs and getting their side to within 21 runs of victory before Day made the breakthrough they needed when he caught Burke (36) off his own bowling. The wicket only delayed the inevitable for the Colts as Josh Lanham came to the middle to join brother Nathan.
The pair had seven overs to score the winning runs and were able to get the job done with 2.5 overs remaining and come away with the nine-wicket win. With one round of the Twenty20 season to go top spot will still be up for grabs with the Stags and Colts separated by six points.
The A grade season will now go on a three-week break over the festive period before the action gets back underway with 40-over games when the Yanco Cricket Club take on L&D CC while the Colts will make the trip across to Narrandera to take on the Carpheads on Saturday, January 12.
The one-day will be played on Sunday, January 13, where the Stags will take on Narrandera with both sides already having secured their positions on the one-day ladder.
