This year the Lions of Club of Leeton is again bringing some festive cheer to those who need it most during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
The Lions will be again be making donation cakes to charity groups within the Leeton community in an attempt to ensure no one misses out this year on a festive favourite.
Lions Club of Leeton Christmas cake chairwoman said the delicious treats would be donated to several groups to distribute.
“We will be donating cakes to the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul for use in their Christmas hampers that they distribute around town,” she said.
“We also donate cakes to the Leeton community Christmas party to use during their annual Christmas lunch.
“Lions will again support Pinnacle Community Services by donating a box of Christmas cake slices to be distributed to their clients when Meals On Wheels deliver their Christmas meals.”

The Lions Christmas cake are like gold at this time of year, with many residents snapping them up months in advance so they don’t miss out.
Pinnacles Community Services co-ordinator Tanya Lewis said the cakes brought plenty of happy smiles to those who receive Meals on Wheels.
“They look forward to them every year,” she said.
“We love to see the smiles on their faces.
“We are lucky to live in such a generous community.”
