With the cost of living continuing to rise, petrol prices are continuing to be something motorists are continuing to have to shell out extra for each year as well.
According to CHOICE, there are several ways residents can save on fuel and thus help out the hip pocket.
The organisation said servicing a vehicle regularly, avoiding short trips and winding down the window instead of blasting the air-conditioning all helps.

Not speeding will also improve fuel efficiency.
Petrol prices in Leeton for unleaded fuel are currently hovering between 135.9 and 132.9 per litre.
In Griffith the prices are around four cents higher at 139.9, but also as high as 149.9.
Motorists passing through Wagga might want to fuel up if running low as the prices there are slightly cheaper than in Leeton.
Unleaded is sitting between 129.9 and 125.9.
One service station in Narrandera is the cheapest out of the lot, selling regular unleaded for 118.9.
Residents wanting to get the best deal in the area can look up any town or city they like using several different apps and website to compare prices and find the cheapest fuel.
