Hailing from Mandurah in Western Australia, she joined District A54 chairmam Jan Munro (Leeton) and members for meetings and a Christmas luncheon.
Members came from a radius of 200km to hear President June’s message of friendship and growth.
Outside of formalities, President June enjoyed a tour of Leeton’s icons and agricultural enterprises, a barbecue with Leeton members and the experience of Light Up Leeton and subsequent tour of Christmas lights around the town. Her parting words were “I will be back to show my husband this area.”
Leeton members held a progressive dinner in December. Members and guests sampled a great two course meal at three venues.
Inner Wheel Day was celebrated by Leeton, Yenda and Griffith East clubs with a game of 10 Pin Bowling and lunch on January 12.
Activities for this year include a speakeasy night/Roaring 20s theme for March 30, Cord Blood Project information afternoon.
The petition for a heated swimming pool which has been circulating will be discussed at the February meeting of council. Members are also selling tickets in our major raffle of a winery walkabout holiday to Rutherglen. Please contact a member if you would like a ticket.
Inner Wheel is a women’s friendship group dedicated to supporting the well-being of women and children, encouraging self-development and confidence through friendship. Members engage in community service and fundraising. New members are welcome.
