This book contains the names of our local lads listed on our Cenotaph and Whitton Memorial Park, who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Each of these soldiers were extensively researched by the society to paint a picture of their service and connections to our district. They were the young men working to build our area, newly opened up to irrigation, but enlisted when the call came.
With so many going to war, progress was limited until after the war.
RSL NSW is still in the process of developing a new constitution to overhaul the league's governance issues.
Designed to ensure RSL NSW can remain sustainable for decades to come, aimed to increase transparency and efficiency, and allowing restoration of fundraising activities.
The current constitution makes it impossible to comply with the Charitable Fundraising Law. It is now being vigorously worked on with the view to producing an acceptable constitution to be presented to members for passing at Albury Congress in May.
Unfortunately, this means we will not be able to fundraise this coming Anzac Day for RSL, but will be comforted in the knowledge that this new constitution will ensure the longevity of the RSL.
