After Leeton won the toss and sent Lake Cargelligo into bat, it was the home side who were able to make the most of the conditions with a strong opening partnership.
Kye O’Neil and Dean Harris were able to get their side to 50 before Bryce Rogers took the wicket of Harris (15) which triggered a stumble from Lakes.
Rogers picked up the wickets of O’Neil (35) and Mitchell Johnson (0) in over the course of two overs to see the holders fall to 3/58.
Andrew Quinane would turn into the key for Lake Cargelligo as he held guide his side out of danger with a 38-run partnership with Mick Ireland before Jack Williamson (1/15) struck to remove Ireland (16), but it did little to slow the momentum from Lake Cargelligo.
D Barber and Quinane were able to put on 64 runs for the fifth wicket before Maclean Crompton (1/14) removed Quinane (46).
Despite the loss of his partner Barber continued to score runs while Jordan Camm picked up the wickets of Greg McFadyen (3) and Luke Robertson (5) before Barber (54) was dismissed by Rogers (4/41) to be the last wicket to fall with Lake Cargelligo finished their 45 overs on 8/195.
Leeton was able to make the start they needed if they were going to be able to chase down the big total set in front of them.
Matt Dedini and Jason Burke were able to put on 77 runs in 17 overs before Burke (54) was dismissed by Quinane (1/26) while Angus Boulton (3) followed closely behind when he was dismissed by Maurice Hall (1/27).
Matt Axtill joined Dedini and got Leeton moving in the right direction after the slight stumble and the pairing were able to add 65 runs for the third wicket partnership.
Dean Harris (4/21) possed issues for the Leeton batsmen as he picked up the wickets of Dedini (67), Jordan Camm (4), Jock Yelland (12) and Ash Cabban (3) while Ireland (1/32) took the wicket of Axtill to put the pressure back on Leeton.
Crompton and Rogers were able to provide the steady heads that were required to see their side come home with a single ball to spare and take the Hedditch Cup with a three-wicket win.
