Ms Driscoll first fell in love with the nursing profession when completing work experience at Leeton District Hospital in 1983.
She said she knew then it was the right career path for her.
"Basically from that moment on I worked towards becoming a nurse," Ms Driscoll said.
"I've always enjoyed caring for people. You do get a lot of satisfaction out of it.
"You get to build a rapport with patients and I think that is really special."
Ms Driscoll is currently helping to build and develop the hospital's midwifery-led model of care for Leeton shire mothers.
It's a role that has brought her plenty of satisfaction as a result.
"We're getting so busy now, we've got mums coming to us from Wagga and Griffith as well," Ms Driscoll said.

"I think what I like most about it is you really are going on the journey with a mum.
"Even if she doesn't have her baby here at the hospital, they can come back afterwards and we are there to support them.
"I think it helps to ease their minds and it's working really well."
Over the course of her career, Ms Driscoll has undertaken many studies, courses and training to be at the level she is now at.
She said working at the Leeton hospital afforded her the privilege of helping people in need, often residents she knows or has seen around town.
"I guess the hard part then of that is when someone passes away ... it's very tough on the friends and family," Ms Driscoll said.
The registered nurse midwife believes there are many positives to becoming a nurse.
"I've had different roles in my career, but I've always enjoyed face-to-face nursing care," Ms Driscoll said.
"I can honestly say that is the part I enjoy the most.
"I went out of management to do that. It's what nursing is really all about."
