Leeton travelled to Hay and returned with a 40-16 win, but it did come at a cost for coach Warren Weir, who tore his hamstring.
However, Weir is hopeful the injury isn't too bad and he will be right to play this weekend against the Griffith Black and Whites.
Weir described the match as scrappy on Sunday afternoon, but was pleased to come away with a victory.
"There were a couple of lapses where we were a bit slow, but in the end we came out on top," he said.
The Greens had eight individual try scorers on the day - Kirtis Fisher, Weir, Todd Prest, Ty Fletcher, Jordan Demarzo, Adam Twigg, Josh Fisher and Kelevi Ralulu.

With the scoring spread around, Weir said his side's attacking style of play did work in their favour on Sunday against the Magpies.
"Once we completed our sets and hung onto the ball, our attack was very good," Weir said.
"Defensively, they did score 16 points against us.
"I think we can improve in that area.
"Hay are a lot better than they have been in previous years, but I think they still have a way to go until they are challenging the top teams."
It was another good day out for the Greens as a whole, with all four grades securing victory.
For first grade, Weir said several players stood out for him on Sunday, including Josh Fisher in his first game back for the season, Demarzo, Hayden Philp, Kirtis Fisher and Ty Fletcher.
Several other senior players did miss Sunday's clash, but Weir was hopeful the Greens would be nearing full strength ahead of this weekend's match against the Griffith Black and Whites.
The side trained on Monday night, with the hard work continue throughout the week ahead in preparation.
"I think that's definitely another game we can win," Weir said.
Leeton are currently on top of the first grade ladder.
