THE issue of securing a permanent doctor for Leeton's hospital is again rearing its head as an election issue.
The Campaigners for Regional Equality, which was set up by a trio of Leeton shire residents, met with independent candidate for Farrer Kevin Mack on Saturday.
As a result of the three-hour meeting, Mr Mack has agreed to attend a public community question and answer session to be held this Thursday.
As well as the hospital and doctor shortage issues being on the agenda, Mr Mack will also address ongoing water concerns, education and youth assistance.
"We accepted this as an opportunity to let the community judge and requested an open public Q&A during his busy schedule," group founding member Robert Quodling said.
"We invite you all to attend this informative session with a leading pre-poll candidate, who may shortly be running the Farrer electorate."
The meeting will be held at either the Yanco Hall or Yanco All-Servicemen's Club from 1pm to 2.30pm on Thursday.
