A born-and-bred Griffith resident and enthusiastic political pundit, Mr Mills will be tackling the federal election with his usual zest.
He says he enjoys the political contest, and this year he's been challenging all the other Farrer candidates to debates on water policy.
So far his debate challenges have been turned down, which he interprets as a sign of fear.
He insists they're all afraid to debate him because their water policies simply don't hold up to scrutiny.
He claims there hasn't been a proper, robust debate on water for years, which he sees as a failure of democracy.
If elected as Member for Farrer he says he'll host debates every month for his entire three-year term in office.
"What I'm looking at is something that hasn't been attempted in 120 years of Australian politics," Mr Mills said.
He says that even if he doesn't win he'll continue challenging the next Member for Farrer to debates.
His debate topic of choice is the Murray Darling Basin Plan, which he says is "killing" the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.
While some candidates call for a pause to the plan and others call for a royal commission into the Murray Darling Basin Authority, he's calling for it to be scrapped altogether.
He has an elaborate vision for what should go in its place, and he's been handing out his water policy leaflets to people all throughout the electorate.
He believes that the election season is the best time to start conversations around water policy, which he'll continue to do all the way up to May 18 when voters head to the polls.
